Associated members wecomed

The Systems Microscopy Network of Excellence (NoE) is offering Associate memberships to scientists with expertise that strengthens the knowledge base of the network and with a strong active interest in partaking in and contributing to network activities.

The Systems Microscopy NoE is a project funded under FP7 of the European Union. The project is establishing the foundations for a new methodology—systems microscopy—enabling systems biology analysis of living cells. The network joins expertise in systems biology, cell biology, microscopy, biostatistics, and bioinformatics from all over Europe. Important project tasks concern the development of standardized technology and consensus for data standards, both crucial to mathematical modelling. Fundamental mechanisms in cell migration and mitosis are explored with the developing methodology, a methodology that in advanced stages of the project also will be applied to address translational questions in cancer biology.

The Associate memberships offer free of charge access to project fora such as meetings, workshops and discussion groups (travel and accommodation costs carried by members), but are unfunded. The Associate membership is established by agreement between the Systems Microscopy NoE and the Associate member, no agreement between the Associate member and the European Commission is made. New associate members will however need to adhere to the preexisting Consortium Agreement regulating IPR.

To express an interest in joining the Systems Microscopy NoE as Associate member, please provide the network with a letter of intent that should not exceed 1 A4 page and a CV. In the letter, along with a brief account of past achievements, please describe your motivation for joining the network and how your expertise will strengthen the network.

Please use the contact form to apply for an Associate membership or for any inquiries concerning applications. Applications are considered continually, no application deadlines apply. Applications for Associate memberships will be handled by the network Executive Board.
